How to pick the right design
Measure first. Tanks and fairings curve, so check the flattest area and leave a margin around the edges.
Think contrast. White, silver and neon pop on dark bodywork; black, red and navy stand out on white, silver and bright paint.
Match your bike's character. Slim pinstripes suit a cruiser, bold graphics suit an adventure bike, sharp numbers suit a sportsbike.
Keep it legal. Nothing should cover your lights, indicators, reflectors or number plate.
Easy to apply, easy to change
You don't need a professional. Clean and degrease the surface, position the decal with a strip of masking tape, then smooth it from the centre outwards with a card or cloth. Leave it to settle before washing and you're done. When it's time for a new look, gentle warmth from a hairdryer softens the adhesive so the vinyl lifts away without marking your paintwork.

1. How long do motorbike stickers last?
Quality outdoor vinyl motorbike stickers typically stay looking sharp for several years. Lifespan depends on sun exposure, mileage and how the bike is cleaned and stored. Bikes kept outdoors all year fade faster than garaged ones. To get the most from your motorbike decals, wash them gently, avoid harsh solvents and press down any lifting edge before it catches the wind.
2. Can I jet wash a bike with motorbike stickers on it?
Yes, with a little care. Wait at least 24 to 48 hours after applying so the adhesive can bond fully. When jet washing, keep the lance at a sensible distance and never aim the spray straight at the edges of a decal, as high pressure will lift them. A bucket, sponge and bike cleaner remain the gentlest option for motorbike stickers.
3. Will petrol or chain lube damage motorbike stickers?
Fuel, brake cleaner, chain lube and strong degreasers are the real enemies of vinyl. A splash of petrol wiped away quickly usually does no harm, but repeated spills can dull the print or soften the adhesive, especially around a filler cap. Wipe up spills straight away with a damp cloth and keep aggressive chemicals off your motorbike decals.
4. Can I put motorbike stickers on a matt finish or textured plastic?
On matt paint, motorbike stickers stick well, though the edges can be slightly more visible than on a gloss surface. Rough, textured plastics such as unpainted mudguards and some adventure-bike panels give the vinyl less contact, so clean and degrease thoroughly, press firmly and warm the decal gently to help it settle.
5. What size motorbike stickers do I need for my tank or fairing?
Measure the flattest part of the panel and take off a couple of centimetres on each side so the design doesn't wrap into a sharp curve. As a rough guide, tank lettering usually sits between 5 and 15 cm tall, while fairing graphics and racing numbers often run from 15 to 30 cm. At TenStickers you choose the exact size you need.
6. Do motorbike stickers affect my insurance or MOT?
An MOT tester won't fail you for decals, as long as nothing obscures your lights, reflectors or number plate. Insurance is different: small stickers are usually fine, but a full colour change or a race-replica livery counts as a modification for many UK insurers and should be declared. A quick call to your provider before you order keeps everything straightforward.
7. Can I put motorbike stickers on my number plate?
No. In the UK it's illegal to alter, cover or add anything to a number plate, including stickers, tinted covers and flag decals that aren't part of an approved plate. Keep your motorbike stickers on the bodywork, panniers, top box or helmet, and make sure nothing overlaps the plate, lights or indicators.
8. Do motorbike stickers work on scooters, mopeds and dirt bikes?
Absolutely. The same weatherproof vinyl works on scooters, mopeds, 125s, dirt bikes and quads, and it's a brilliant way to refresh tired plastics or cover scuffs on a used machine. On off-road bikes, keep decals away from the hottest areas near the exhaust and press the edges down firmly before a muddy ride.
